The Colorado CNA program allows parents, relatives, and others who meet Colorado’s eligibility requirements to care for their loved ones and receive pay for carrying out those duties. We’ll help guide you through the process of the CNA program, which can be difficult to navigate. As a CNA, you’ll be able to care for your loved one while earning an income as an Aveanna employee.

The In-Home Support Services (IHSS) Program 

In the state of Colorado, the In-Home Support Services (IHSS) program gives patients the opportunity to receive care at home, select their own attendants, and direct their own care. Patients can choose a family member or friend who meet certain state eligibility requirements to be their IHSS attendant once the IHSS agency determines that individual has the necessary skills.

The following waivers allow for patients to receive the services and benefits of IHSS through Health First Colorado (Medicaid):

• Elderly, Blind & Disabled (EBD)
• Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
  • Adults
• Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS)
  • Children

IHSS caregivers can provide the following services:

• Healthcare maintenance programs
• Personal care activities
• Homemaker services
