A Safer Place to Care
Published June 12, 2020

By Beth Rubio, Chief Clinical Officer

During these challenging times, nurses everywhere are the world’s heroes. Nurses today are working in all kinds of different settings saving lives and making a difference one patient at a time. I could not be more proud of the way everyone has responded during this difficult time that tests our resolve and our skill as nurses.

The high-profile and high-intensity frontline work in hospital ICUs has been incredible. This kind of nursing care has saved so many, yet it’s not the kind of environment that’s right for every nurse. Neither is facility work where the risk of exposure to COVID-19 remains higher.

At Aveanna, our nurse heroes provide one-on-one care to our patients in their homes. Working with just one patient in one home is a safer way to care for our patients and families and for each nurse. And it makes a difference not only for our medically fragile patients but also for your community as a whole. Keeping patients out of the hospital is vital for everyone during the pandemic. It’s a setting that has helped some of our most experienced nurses continue working safely and helping during this crisis. You may have never thought about working in home care before. But now is the perfect time to consider opportunities in this incredibly rewarding field. As your fellow nurse, I hope you will explore how a career with Aveanna could benefit both you and your community. Now more than ever, there is no better place to be a nurse.
