Mark is the Executive Director at Aveanna's Indianapolis and Merrillville offices. He's progressed in his professional journey at Aveanna from a Client Service Supervisor to Executive Director, all in less than two years. He has found more than just growth at Aveanna -- he's found passion and purpose.
What brought you to Aveanna?
After I graduated college in 2023, I was working in downtown Indianapolis as a valet for a hotel, which helped me learn all sorts of customer service skills like serving others with a smile no matter what. Once I found Aveanna online, I connected with the team in my region and appreciated the way they took the time to teach me and share their knowledge. It's been so special getting to know them.
How has your Aveanna team supported you in your roles at the company?
I started working at Aveanna in 2024 as a Client Service Supervisor. My team consistently encouraged my growth and pushed me forward. My Area Director gave me the confidence I needed to succeed in my role. With their guidance, I've been able to learn so many new skills and not limit myself.
How has Aveanna inspired your passion in healthcare?
Since transitioning to my role as Executive Director, I've been able to consistently go out and meet families and patients in their homes. I don't think there's anything more rewarding than actually seeing who you are helping. I love that part of my job and would love to encourage more of my team to go out into the home and visit with those we serve.
What does it mean to be part of the Aveanna team?
In our unique industry, there's a very clear "why" to everything we do. There's no gap between who we're helping and why we're doing it. No matter who you are, Aveanna gives you the opportunity to grow and gain experience. We connect with so many different people on a day-to-day basis, and that just makes the job that much more special. We're all working for the same goal of bringing more families home from the hospital and keeping them healthy.
What have you found at Aveanna?
Our mission and purpose as a company gives me a warm feeling in my heart every day. That feeling is something I've been chasing ever since I came to Aveanna. Knowing that our nurses and all our field staff make such a life-changing impact on families is the "why" of all I do. That's what keeps me motivated.
