For nurse Anna, home health care is where her heart truly belongs. After years working in hospice care, she embraced a new chapter when she moved to rural Alabama, joining Aveanna's Livingston Home Health branch and finding her passion in caring for her community.
"Joining Aveanna has helped me fall in love with home care," said Anna. "Connecting with my patients one-on-one and being able to witness their recovery is so special. It's truly what keeps me inspired."
Anna's Aveanna team has also underscored the support she's felt since day one. While she travels independently to her patients, she never feels alone in her role. Her Aveanna team has been her lifeline, always ready to guide her through medical questions or even rescue her during unexpected challenges like a flat tire. This support means everything to Anna as a home health nurse.
The close-knit community that Anna serves has played a role in connecting her mission as a nurse with her love of people. The care she provides reaches far beyond the physical, it embraces the whole person and their unique story.
"Every person I've encountered in our rural area is so precious," said Anna. "I provide care, and I also see how that care empowers patients to keep doing what they love. I learn about their lives, their families, and their hobbies, among so many other things. This community helps anyone and everyone, and that's what I love -- getting to help them as well."
Anna knows that her role at Aveanna not only improves the lives of her patients, but it also makes a difference in her own mindset. What she does is more than just a job, it's a passion and calling -- one Anna is honored to fulfill.
"My care of patients also makes me feel better," said Anna. "I'm happier, and my patients truly improve my life on a daily basis. I feel as though it's what I'm on this earth to do.
