Kason was born with an extremely rare chromosomal deletion and spent the first 6 months of his life in the hospital. His unique condition brought a lot of uncertainty for Kason and his parents. Kayla and Kason recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of the day they met. A year ago, Kason wasn’t so sure about Nurse Kayla. “Kason is wary of new people,” his mom explains. “When they first met, he was giving her suspicious looks. But just one month in, he started to trust her, and their connection has only gotten stronger since then. Now he gives the sweetest looks just for Kayla.”
