Today we’d like to introduce you to a very special Aveanna team member – Nurse Rich!
Rich has been part of the Aveanna family for just a few months, but in that short time he has made an incredible impact. While it’s difficult for us now to imagine Aveanna without Rich, he says that nursing wasn’t always part of his career plan.
“I never even thought about becoming a nurse until I met my wife,” Rich recalls. “Healthcare wasn’t on my radar at all. But she changed that. She inspired me to begin a career in healthcare and has encouraged me through every step of my journey, from EMT to home health caregiver to nurse.”
Rich’s wife saw his big heart and the care he had for others and pushed him to pursue nursing. She knew he would make a fantastic caregiver. And she was certainly right! “As a nurse, I am always trying to improve my patient’s wellbeing,” Rich shares. “I never settle when it comes to my patient’s goals. Our patients have no limits, and it’s my job to help them overcome and improve every day.”
Rich joined the Aveanna team soon after receiving his nursing license and hasn’t looked back since. Home care nursing is the perfect job for Rich. He loves the opportunity to connect with and invest in his patients one on one. “The best thing about being a nurse is knowing you changed someone’s life for the better,” Rich explains.
